In the Belly of the Whale

It’s been four weeks since construction began.  We’re almost closed in.  Friday after Thanksgiving, and my family has the day off…as does our Contractor.  It’s a pleasant reprieve from the hectic push of project deadlines all trying to get bid before the holidays.

In the belly of the whale.  It’s a shame this will all be concealed by drywall.

Demolition took only a few days, but was the hardest to work through.  Especially the masonry gables coming down. My brain was completely frazzled by mid-afternoon. Having learned my lesson, I vacated to the public library on the day they brought down the chimney.  It can only go up from here.

Floor Joists.
